Plume is designed to be genuinely easy to install — most people are up and running in minutes. Here's exactly how it works, and we're on hand if you'd rather we do it for you.
Plume works alongside your current router — you don't replace your line, you make it smarter. One SuperPod per main area or floor is a great starting point, and the app guides you on placement as you add each pod.
Install the Plume Home app on your phone and sign up. It walks you through the whole process from here.
Plug a SuperPod into your router with the supplied ethernet cable, then into a wall socket. This one becomes your gateway. Restart your router so it picks up the change.
The app detects the gateway pod and helps you create your Wi-Fi network name and password. Your smart, self-optimising network is now live.
Plug additional SuperPods into wall sockets in the rooms or areas you want to strengthen. The app confirms each one and optimises the mesh automatically.
Set up profiles and parental controls, share guest access, switch on AI Security and motion sensing — all from the app, whenever you like.
Aim for roughly one pod per main area or floor, and keep pods within comfortable reach of one another so the mesh stays strong.
Plug into wall sockets in open spaces rather than hidden behind furniture or inside cabinets, which can muffle the signal.
Avoid placing a pod right next to large appliances like microwaves or fridges, which can interfere with Wi-Fi.
Your gateway pod works well near the centre of your home or close to where most devices live, not tucked away in a corner.
We offer guided self-install support over the phone, or on-site setup by arrangement. Either way, you'll have a local team that knows Plume inside out.
